Information

​The John Brown Heritage Association welcomes inquiries from persons interested in the organization’s mission and activities. The JBHA has representatives able to provide information about John Brown’s role and significance in local and national history. The organization also may be able to furnish a speaker for any area group wanting to learn more about John Brown and the work of the JBHA.

Meetings

The JBHA has a board of directors that meets three times a year at a location in Meadville, Pennsylvania. The meetings are at 7 p.m. on the second Thursday respectively of May, September, and November. Meetings include a presentation on a topic related to John Brown’s life and times, followed by the board’s business matters. Interested persons from the public are welcome to attend the meetings.

Membership & Donations

​​The JBHA is always open to new members. Membership entitles you to a mailed copy of the organization’s annual newsletter and is how you can support the JBHA’s efforts to preserve, maintain and interpret the John Brown tannery site for the public to visit without charge. Membership categories and dues are as follows: student, $5; basic, $15; sustaining, $15 to $25; patron/business, $25 to $100; and life, $100 and up. Non-membership donations of any amount also are appreciated. Please make membership dues or donations payable to “John Brown Heritage Association,” and mail the check with your contact information to the address listed below.
